lime vinaigrette. It's for lunch tomorrow and, having made it many times, I know it tastes better if you make it a day ahead. (I also have 6 houseguests and I'm taking advantage of the fact that they're out for several hours) I'd like to add some cooked shrimp to the salad. I'd REALLY like to add it today. Will the lime do anything to the shrimp if it's already cooked? Don't want soggy shrimp!

 
I would definitely not add them today

cook them and keep them in a separate container, then stir them in before serving. They would discolor from the black beans, and the lime would toughen them up.

 
If the recipe has cilantro, I wouldn't add that today either. It gets wilty and funny tasting.

At least it did to us when we added it the day before.
