Help! Wasn't there a post recently about how to 'cool' down a too-hot chili?

I made a batch of soup that turned out a little too hot and I seem to remember someone had a great way to cool it down by adding something... ??

 
I saw the link - a recipe for chili, but I don't see anything about sugar and vinegar! How much?
