Help with cookies, please. I made the dough for these shortbread cookies and it's chilling.

I had two different recipes out and I made the wrong one. I really want to bake the jam in the cookies instead of filling after baking. Think I can do it with the recipe I made the dough from?http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/thumbprint-cookies-0

I suggest trying one tray of your shortbread cookies with dollops of jam in the thumbprints. . .

And see how they go. I would think that this would be ok, but I would keep a close eye on them; maybe the jam might dry out too much?

Most of the thumbprint cookie recipes I have seen call for baking the jam with the cookie, for the whole time of baking the cookie, so I would think it would work with this recipe.

I think you should be ok baking the jam on the cookie. They looks very similar to this

recipe with the ingredients, cookie size, temp and baking time.
