Lundberg has changed their packaging.....now the recipe I used that I like so well is gone...they've put new recipes on with the new packaging. I went to their website but the recipe isn't there and there's not way to contact them.

Does anyone have the package of basmati rice with this recipe:

it has toasted almonds...you brown rice first in a skillet with butter, then add chicken stock.... there's mushrooms too. I'm hoping someone has this recipe! please help. Thank you!

I feel your pain Marsha, I've been there. I don't have that brand but>>>

if you find the recipe I'd love to get it. It sounds great.

I use another brand of Basmati, but could you just try a basic pilaf recipe......

and add those ingredients--I have done this sort of thing and usually after a try or two figure out what is missing?
Actually I wanted to mention Lundberg Black Japonica Rice. A blend of mahogany and black rice. I have just cooked it in a little vegatble stock and used as a side, but I think it would work great in rice salads-am going to experiment with this. Also in soup.

Her's another delicious Basmati Pilaf recipe with Lundberg's brown rice....I'll not lose this one!

1 tsp finely chopped, peeled fresh ginger
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground coriander
freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp light (reduced sodium) soy sauce

Combine rice, broth, butter and bay leaf in a med saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat to low and simmer 50 mins. Heat oil in a med skillet over med high heat. add onion; cook 3 mins. Add celery, raisins, ginger, cumin, corinader and pepper to taste.

Cook 2 mins. stir into the cooked rice. Add soy sauce and mix well. remove bay leaf before serving.

yield: 3-1/2 c or 4-6 servings.

Nan, I've tried all of the rice varieties, including the one you mention and I've used them in soup

too!

Mimi, if you read this, I wish we could edit the subject line too!!!! Thank you.

Where do you buy this rice brand? Is it in a regular grocery store or a specialty store?

Angie, I get mine at a local gourmet health food store, also Publix and Wild Oats....As I'm

recalling the recipe, you put a cup of rice in a skillet with a tablespoon of butter, saute til the rice is browned, then add 1 c. chicken stock, can't remember if it's a c of water too, put a tight fitting lid over....while cooking, lightly toast some blanched almonds.....it's here I can't recall. at some point soon you put in the almonds and some mushrooms and cook til done, salt & pepper to taste.

I can't recall if you use more butter or stock.

Ang, here in Ketchikan, Safeway has it, in the natural foods section. So Good!

woops, not sure what happened up above. No whole foods or TJs up here, so I may have to request the

product from Safeway or Fred Meyer. It sounds like a very nice brand.

Have you tried sending them an e-mail

and ask for the recipe?

It sounds so good I'd LOVE to try it too!
