Here is what I've been learning instead of cooking lately

I'll have to update when it is finished. It will have scalloped borders & pink binding.

I've wanted to do this for a long time. I was all ready to start the advanced class but will have to wait until the next night one. Our other paralegal is going to have surgery so I'll be working days I'm usually off for a while.

I just love the colors. I already have the fabric purchased for my first full size quilt.

Thanks all. It is a huge learning process.

Each class has been only once a week for six weeks, so we mostly observe in class & then go home & do the work on our own. I need to hurry before I forget how we did all this in the last class!

Beware of quilting, Melissa

It's a dangerous hobby....It's very addicting and you end up being a FABRIHOLIC!!! smileys/smile.gif

Ask me how I know! smileys/smile.gif

I already discovered that. I also already bought a used special sewing machine.

I am in big trouble. I've also dicovered Hancock's of Paducah, among others...

If you're really interested, check out the book "Quilters the Musical" was based on. (I was part of

the production staff for the 2nd National Production at the Taper, here in LA, back in '83. In the process I learned far too much about the art. "22 stitches to the inch!") Book's called The Quilters:Women and Domestic Arts by Patricia Cooper and Norma Bradley Allen

We have quilts all over our home. Love 'em.

Thank you! Very cool! I just put in a request for it at the library.

Oh, and that 22 stitches per inch...maybe someday, but definitely not yet.

Beautiful and

I know from friends quilting is so addictive and eventually expensive because it requires more and more toys/machines.

People used to make their own clothes because it was thrifty.

I hadn't sewn in years.& I'm astounded at how expensive fabric has gotten.
