There's a disclaimer in the email saying they ALWAYS do their product rating testing without the manufacturer's knowledge, and never offer any discounts until AFTER the rating has been published.

Never saw THAT coming!

They have removed the fire wall from their product ratings on their site and added a

button for Amazon on some of them I assume that means a kick back for Cook's Illustrated. Also something new since Kimball's departure.
