Here's something I've really been enjoying and is great for anyone who enjoys iced

coffee and also really good to add to baked goods and desserts. It's N.O. Brew coffee. I had seen an article on this in the paper or maybe on t.v. Then a few weeks ago they were giving out samples at Whole Foods. It is intensely concentrated (almost syrupy) cold brewed coffee in a 34 oz. bottle. Makes terrific iced coffee and cafe au lait and I think I am going to use it to make coffee ice cream. There are articles on cold-brewing on the internet and it seems to have some benefits, especially for people that have stomach problems with coffee. I like this so much that I am considering buying a cold brewing set-up. I've been using the Mocha to make cafe au lait in the mornings.http://www.nobrew.com/?gclid=CNae3sy28ZMCFQUNIgodZ1MAVg

Oh, I'm having a 70's flashback. Check your (or Mom's or Grandma's) closet. You may have a Toddy

Maker in there already. They've been around for forever.

The toddy filled with coffee grounds and cold water sits above a container and sloooowly drips into a base as a concentrate. Then you simply add hot water to it for a coffee. The key thing back then (when we weren't watching Wonder Woman or dancing under a disco ball) was you didn't have to make a whole pot of hot coffee to have one cup. Oh, and the option to reuse the grounds twice. We were poor (read: cheap) in the 70's.

Or even easier, just soak the ground coffee in a bowl of cold water overnight then drain/strain. Result may be a bit more bitter though.

That's what I'm considering. I've been really disillusioned with coffee-making recently.

My small drip machine broke a short while ago. I got one of the Senseo's on the special deal and now am having problems finding the filter packs for it, or at least ones I like, short of having to order online. For some reason I'm also having trouble finding any coffee I like lately except for Cafe Bustelo. Maybe I'm going through the change of coffee life...

Hi Melissa,

I bought a Coffee Duck for my Sensio, and I use it exclusively now. You just have or grind your coffee beans to an expresso grind, and fill up the C.D., pop it in the Sensio and make a cup of coffee. It costs around $15 on Amazon which is the equivalent of three boxes of coffee pods. It is working out great for me. I like it because I can adjust how strong I want my coffee and what kind I want.
I still buy my husband the pods, but that is because he isn't a morning person. smileys/smile.gif

I bought one too. I don't know why all of a sudden so many coffees just don't taste good to me.

The duck does work well though.
