This one was at Epi, from Lee in Chicago:

momma's tuna casserole

1 big can or 2 small cans chunk light tuna in water (you don't want the good stuff here, go cheap!)

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1/2 can milk

cooked noodles to taste (make them a bit more al dente than you usually like)

Ritz crackers - crushed(optional - petit pois peas, garlic powder)

preheat oven to 350 F

drain tuna, flake it into large bowl, mix in soup and milk. Mix in noodles (maybe 1/2 a bag? up to you how many). Mix in 1 cup peas if desired, garlic powder if desired. Turn into greased casserole dish, top with crushed ritz crackers. Bake 20-40 minutes until golden and bubbling.

I think this was originally on the soup can.

Not me looking for it, but it sounds good. I use a similar recipe from the bag of noodles.

Uh, I thought it was... but maybe I misread your post. See link. I goofed, though, I didn't know

somone was looking for a recipe at Epi WITHOUT canned soup. (oops)

Gees, I haven't been there in ages, and now I see they have removed the "old kitchen seek" post. Try it - type it in the search box, and that post doesn't show up anymore. Good thing I put it in the "tips" section here!

Curious's looks good, but Cloftwld, could you please post yours? Always looking for low-sodium stuff

here, as DH has probs with hbp. Thanks!!

haha that was me

Thank you- that's almost exactly what I ended up doing, and it satisfied my craving perfectly.

now having read this thread in its entirety

I normally make it without canned anything. I was specifically craving the kind made with canned cream of mushroom soup. Having never even seen this dish in real life, I needed a recipe lol.

No, I was not brought up eating in a particularly healthy manner. For whatever reason, my mother never cooked meatloaf, tuna casserole, anything 'surprise', or brussels sprouts. All of which I love now. All of which are complete novelties to me.

Reminds me of my college days....

Tuna Wiggle Casserole

1 box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese
1 can of the cheapest tuna
4-5 packs of saltines borrowed from the cafeteria.

Put the mac and cheese in the old metal bowl type popcorn popper and cook it to the best of the popper's ability. Add tuna. Stir all up. top with crushed crackers. Eat it right out of the popper bowl. yummmmm.
