to colleen for helping with the answer. You were spot on.

Cheezz...there is no heavy cream in the buttermilk pie. However I wanted it to be a bit more tart so I added two TBL of crème fraiche.

I don't think plain heavy cream would make the difference I was going for. If anything, sour cream would be a better option if you want it tarter like I did. I just happened to have homemade crème fraiche and used that.

The original recipe doesn't use anything other than the buttermilk so adding more thin liquid might change the custardosity of the texture.

(CUSTARDOSITY: That's a new word I invented JUST for you.)

(You're welcome.)

CUSTARDOSITY: Now that is a word that Webster should be made aware of >

and what might your definition be?

Thank you! I'm making it this Wednesday. Buttermilk pie has always been a fave smileys/smile.gif

Aww, Marilyn. .. If I want to see smooth and creamy skin, I have to look at my stomach. . .(nt)

Ha. I've managed to stop seeing myself at all. Example: the other

morning (4:30 AM) I pulled on a top and immediately thought the collar was too tight. This was a clue that I had the top on backward. But I pulled back the fabric below my chin and there was NO label...so I didn't have it on backward.

Fortunately, as I was walking out of the house to leave, I passed the large mirror in the hall and saw something white at my collar line.

And--of course--it was the label.

So not only did I have the top on BACKWARD, I had it on INSIDE OUT.

Yep, I have done the inside out thing--and it irritates me no end. . .

because my husband NEVER mentions it. I keep waiting for him to do something like this, but NOOOOOooooo, he is always Mr. Perfect-shirt.

One night, after he rides his bike and is really tired and out like a light, I am going to trim his longer-than-Santa beard into two very widely separated points. And tie bows on the ends.

I can dream. . .
