hey MariaD, remember the search for Snoopy cookie *Christmas Light Bulbs*?

I found 2.5mm nonpareils in NC this past week. Here's a mock-up with a 6.5 inch cookie.

which is the size you mentioned for your cookie. It took the exact same number of bulbs as your example. However, I don't think these would be big enough for an 8" cookie (which is what the cookie cutter link said it was). That size would need at least 4mm or larger.

This is the same size that Lana found, but with different packaging. The colors also aren't an exact match for the version you copied, but the diameter seems quite close. She used chocolate string which makes the colors pop; the white glue I used in the mock-up detracts from the color of the bulbs.

The Wilton packaging calls them JUMBO, but the description on my receipt says 2.5mm.

I bought a jar for you, just in case they might work.

Thanks for looking, I guess it's about time I start looking again, but I've had a weird week.

1) I decided to install my own dishwasher as the neighbor who said he would hasn't and it's been over a year.

2) after the ant invasion and before the dishwasher install I decided to try and scrub my floor real well and see if I could get some old stains out.

3) I scrubbed the floor so well I ruined it. Took the top coat and color off of it. The stain remains. Of course.

4) Suddenly shift priority to looking for new flooring.

5) Neighbor who said he'd put dishwasher in shows up with a huge grocery bag of concord grapes from his garden. He must've seen the kitchen torn up yet said nothing.

6. Suddenly shift priority to jam making. FYI, I spend over an hour just destemming the grapes and now each must be peeled - each! One 4lb batch of jam will barely put a dent in all these grapes.

7. Hurry and finish jam somehow because I've got 5 yro twins to watch this afternoon, but must get a slew of errands done before then.

8. Apparently, I'm getting old!

Michael found some 7mm versions that could work on the 8". Your week sounds crazy-busy, but instructional.

When I was a kid and there were many, many kids in our home, my uncle would show up with a TRUCK full of concord grapes. Mom made jelly (not jam), so there was no peeling...just a lot of straining.

She'd end up with 6 linear feet of quart jars filled with concord grape jam covered with wax.

I DESPISED grape jelly until age 40 when I could finally appreciate it again.

 
I have Wilton Jumbo Nonpareils and they are WAY too small. The jar doesn't give the size though.

Those were the biggest I could find locally, Party City included. I found bigger online, but it peeved me to pay more for shipping than the product. This year I'm going to the actual bakery supply/cake decorating store and see if she can order me something given she doesn't have the right size in store either.
