Hey Marilyn, may want to stock up!!

Seriously? I was hoping both of you were too far inland. I wish you the best. My friends

on the coast just finally got to their evacuation point. Keep us posted

Best,
Barb

This storm is being compared to Hugo which was devastating. The more dangerous

part with this one can be flooding because it may stall after coming ashore they are saying.
We were 200 miles inland with Hugo and had hurricane force winds (90+) which our gorgeous trees could withstand!!

I went to Duke for Grad school; I can't believe they have cancelled school for the rest of the week.

I wish you all the best; They NEVER cancelled school for a day; let alone the entire week! Stay safe. My friends have evacuated and headed north.

Thank you, C. I'm at the Smoky Mts, so I'm okay except for rain. Asheville will

probably get flooding because French Broad River is at city level.

My granddaughter is at Carolina and they cancelled also--she has gone to Florida

with a friend. It is too dangerous!! This storm is 300 miles wide and that part of carolina is also in the dangerous segment of a hurricane--the northeast side with the counterclockwise rotation. Spawns tornadoes in addition to wind. If you've ever been in a hurricane you treat it carefully.
There is likely to be a LOT of flooding and power outages all over the Carolinas. This hurricane is going to stall and just dump 3 feet of rain.
My grandson lives in Charleston with his mother and has evacuated.
