I just read in the Columbus Dispatch that 26 EXTRA flights are leaving Columbus on Saturday for Phoenix. And that's not counting the ones leaving Thur, Fri. & Sun, nor those out of Cincinnati and Cleveland. A massive airlift of half the state's population to Arizona is in progress. LOL

And the grocery stores cannot stock the frozen alligator fast enough for all the "Tailgators".

I think you'll have your hands full of Buckeyes in the next few days out there in the desert.

Come one! Come all! Tourism is the #1 industry out here, and winter is ...

...waaaaaaay nicer than summer.

I tried to scare up a couple of tickets to the game for Music City Missy. Sheeesh! I know heads of corporations that OWN part of the Cardinals and D'Backs and THEY can't get seats!

It's nuts.

Michael: I vacationed in Sedona one summer and while there I was told that Pheonixites also summer

in Sedona because Pheonix is so darn hot! True? BTW, it was only funny because Sedona was darn hot.

GET READY - because the 'nuts' are coming from everywhere, including here....

DH and his gang leave out tomorrow! We've had nothing but emails, phone calls at all hours from friends, fellow Buckeyes and strangers. Offers for Buckeye tailgating supplies, invites to 'the party' to be at in Phoenix, you name it. I am SO ready for this to be over and put the scarlet and gray up for at least a few months before it all starts back!

Actually, we've heard from everyone that tickets in and out of Phoenix from everywhere for the time period from yesterday through about next Wednesday are impossible to come by - nothing left at any price for the last several weeks.

Tourists are one thing but you haven't seen anything until you see this sea of scarlet and gray coming your way this time. They come whether they have tickets to the game or not - just to be there - all for a football game. Needless to say, I can spend that money equally well right here which is why I always stay home and enjoy my ME time!

BTW - one of the guys was told that Drinkwater's was THE PLACE to go so he booked them there for Sunday night - DH wanted to go to the game but lost out on that. Thanks anyway. And watch out for stray golf balls - with my husband playing (or rather NOT) there is no telling what will happen!

Sedona is beautiful. One of the most unusual sights one will ever see. It is cooler...

...than Phoenix in the summer (and winter).

Phoenix is in the "low desert" region, and gets between 100 and 120 degrees most of the summer (May to October... one LONG summer!). Sedona is at least 10 to 20 degrees (or more) cooler.

Herb Drinkwater was the long-time Mayor of Scottsdale. He passed away...

...a few years ago at a fairly young age.

Awesome dude. He did more for Scottsdale than Wyatt Earp did for Tombstone.

Never been to Drinkwater's, but I hear it's a good place to "be seen".
