weeks ago to a lovely baby - her first (and only) son. He wasn't planned but we are happy to have him after a difficult time.

2 Have a houseful of guests so between travelling around with them and cooking for them have not had any time.

Also preparing for a trip later this month with my 2 oldest grandchildren to CA - going down the coast from Monterey - looking for whales - maybe a blue whale if we are lucky.

Any recommendations for eating in Monterary, Cambria, Dana Point

are certainly welcomed.

Finally for those who celebrate - a Happy, healthy and peaceful

new year.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. We love Cambria, great eating, shopping and hiking places

We have been up and down that area a lot. Cambria has a lot of great places to eat, just ask any local for suggestions. Robins Restaurant on Burton St. is right downtown and very popular with the locals. They have indoor and outdoor protective seating. Make reservations. I have eaten there many times, always a winner. Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill on the ocean, great views and also a popular place.
Monterey and Dana Point the same, just ask a local. Will you be in the area of Ventana, a great resort with excellent food and views, we have eaten there many times, always outside.

Congratulations on the baby boy...what a great addition to your family.
