Hi everone, I'm back safe and sound. We lost power about

8 AM on the 10th but thankfully it came back on at 11:30 that very same night. I literally cried. It is about 90 deg. with 65 to 70 % humidity every day so I was really worried with my health problems. The cable just came back on and I feel very guilty about the millions of people all around me without power and water. We have no damage to our building but we haven't ventured out of our community so we don't get in clean up crews way. We are keeping a close eye on our 90 yr. old sweet neighbor so all in all...I'm thankful.

Glad to hear that you are safe and not too damaged.

Also happy to hear that Marilyn is okay.

I hope that Michael in Sarasota arrives home to not much devastation also.

So glad everything went well for you, Orchid! We are fine too -

Lost power for 22 hours only from 7 pm on Sunday, such a relief. Our neighbor was great and plugged our freezer into his generator. I told DH I want a generator for my birthday - romance seems less important during a hurricane. We had large branches down, and the top of a tree, plus so much debris! Mistletoe everywhere, I was tempted to dry it all and sell it at Christmas, but ended up bundling it all into trash bags. We only got phone and internet back last night, heralded by 44 messages pouring into my phone at once. Younger DD still has no power, so I was glad when we persuaded her and her fiance plus cat to come and stay.

I am so thankful we have been so lucky, when I read the papers and see what others are going through.

Am thrilled to hear orchid & Lana are back in business. Fingers crossed waiting for good news from

Michael & Marilyn and anyone else I missed mentioning.

Glad you are both well and safe. I believe MIchael posted that he got out

just in time and was in California on a planned trip.

I am so glad you are all ok. I recall, 5 years ago or so, when we went through Storm Sandy. It

was quite an ordeal. It really brings out the best / worst in people. I recall some neighbors going to gas lines w/o helping others for generators.... BUT, also the best in people. My tea group really came through with help for all. We had the generator, so we were home base for many. dh said I did great until we lost water. I think that is when I really needed to take deep breaths. I live in my kitchen, wash hands all the time. My kids know first thing they do when they come home is take off shoes, then wash hands. The water thing was too much for me. Fortunately, it came back soon~

I am so glad everyone is OK! What an experience!

Lost internet and tv again yesterday afternoon so I was really

chipped off to put it mildly! The whole time I kept trying to remind myself that there is still a lot of people still without power. So buck up for crying out loud! We still had power, radio and a ton of dvd's to watch last night. But please Comcast...don't take it away again. OK?
