Watching the news this am looks like the DC area escaped any bad damage. We lost power briefly
but only a couple of hours so the fridges are okay, whew!! I know the coast got a lot more damage and have seen on the news that NYC got a bit more than we did. Hope everyone north of DC fared as well as we did!!

ARGH!!!!! The electric went out again and I have a full compliment of recipes and prep
work done all over the kitchen. Thought I was safe to cook. Storm is gone and sun is peaking out, why did the electric go out!!
This is what I was planning:
applebutter (actually already in the crockpot but not getting butterized...yet)
pumpkin pecan butter
pasta with roasted pumpkin, kale and sausage for dinner
Cheesy beer batter bread (a friend mentioned this the other day and I have been craving it since, do you have a T+T?)
Apple cider cake that was posted here a week or so ago

We never lost power, but the wind rattled our windows for 9 hours straight, it got pretty loud at times!
We had lots of snacks and wine, so we were covered -
A large percentage of the city is without power and under water still, and my mom in NJ still has no power.
We are very lucky, I think!

Thank you for the concern. We came through this horrific storm
safely......however, have lost many trees.....had no electricity and water. Compared to the devastation here in New Jersey we were very lucky in my area.
I cannot even watch the reporting on this storm.....heart wrenching to see all the suffering and destruction.
