Hope no one takes offense but I've found several new postings in t&t. My maple pound cake

somehow got deleted so I went in to repost. Please remember that t&t's should be recommended by several others before you post it.

I wasn't going to post this message, but when I look up a tried and true I really want a recipe that several others have tried and loved.

very diplomatically put, cyn. i wondered that, too, but s'pose they're just posting rec's that are

t&t to them, and that's a way to share them. seems like, historically anyways, rec's that ended up in t&t were voted in, so maybe it's best to post here and see what kind of response they get? what does everybody else think?

Nope. The text under "Tried & True Recipe Hall of Fame" states:

"These forums are for recipes that have been tried by several people in the group and have been generally hailed as very good. Recipes only, no discussion, no ISOs. Credit your sources!"

Sorry!)

Thanks for the reminder Cyn, I'll take a look and clean it up, I will delete the ones that...

don't belong.

Reminder: if it's T&T to you only, then post it in this forum. If it's T&T to many here, then it goes in the Hall of Fame.

But, how will you know if they've been T&T by just the poster or T&T by several people here? ...

For example, I recently posted "Blue Cheese Broiled Tomatoes" under appetizers, since several people had tried them over the past several months and liked them. How would you be able to tell if the recipe belonged in the T&T folder or not? (unless you have mental telepathic, super powers? smileys/smile.gif

Since there are supposed to be votes on the T&Ts, perhaps...

...a separate posting area in the forum for folks to vote on their favorites would be a good/helpful idea?

I don't see anything about formal votes being required. The text under

"Tried and True Recipes Hall Of Fame" states: "These forums are for recipes that have been tried by several people in the group and have been generally hailed as very good. Recipes only, no discussion, no ISOs. Credit your sources!"

No formal votes, just a few replies that they liked your recipe and an agreement...

among the people who've tried it to add it to the T&T. I don't have the time and energy to police it that strictly.)
