How can I get so excited just by finding quail eggs???

But I did! Went to a shop I rarely go to (out of the way), and found some quail eggs. Woohooo!

So, now I am going to make something with them. I have quails in the freezer. I have pumpkin, and lentils. Maybe something with all that, fresh coriander, maybe a bit of cardamom (though maybe not).

I'll see. I'll report. Likely tomorrow, as tonight's going to be shepherd's pie.

And every time I have quail eggs in front of me, I am reminded of the time I was working in a conference centre shared with a chinese community and we would do a big vegetarian banquet every other month. Big. BIG. Like... 5,000 people. And at one of them, we boiled 1 quail egg per person. And I was the poor sap that had to PEEL all these thousands of quail eggs!!! Sweet memories (I should put that on my list of post to blog about!).

Cheers

Peeling quail eggs - ugh! That reminds me

of my assignment while working for a caterer one holiday season.

The owner; who had enough kitchen experience that she might be able to serve a bowl of cereal, suggested Hasselback potatoes for a 250 person dinner, and of course the client loved that idea.

After she saw what was involved in the prep, she never offered that option again.

Last night on the episode of Tudors, King Henry was presented quail eggs for pregnant wife 3

Jane Seymore. She craved quail eggs. they were presented in a beautiful box.
