How do you get "correct" strainer baskets for your kitchen sink? The hardware store versions

never work or hold the water in the sink. This has been a pet peeve of mine forever. I think every place I've ever lived has had at least one replacement. Can your plumber order the right one for your sink if you know the brand of it?

Are you talking about the strainer that fits over the water outlet at the bottom of the sink?

Yes, your plumber can order it, if you know the make of the sink and the number. However, I think most of those are the same size...I've always picked mine up at the hardware store.

I always thought it was a universal size, that they just differ by

manufacturer and design. The ones that we had that worked best had a rubber liner around them, and I think the logo on the metal button was "K" - altho I don't remember what brand the K was for.

I wondered why bought one with a K for Kendall, and not an S for Sandi!!

They do sell strainer's mad especially for a specific sink. When we redid our kitchen I ordered the.

sink and its strainer online.

Look for a company that sell just sinks and if they still sell your model, you can order it from them.

We looked for a long time before finding a replacement for ours. None we brought home would fit.
