How is that a fruit fly survived a 60-second trip

Fruit flies are little devils, I loathe them with a passion.

BEST trap for fruitflies. (We have grapevines just outside our back patio door, so we get

LOTS in the house in the early Fall) is to have a half inch of red wine in the bottom of a bottle and leave on the counter overnight. They go in, can't come out but die happy!

At the rate they are attracted, I can highly recommend Merlot and Zinfandel for this purpose. Hard

to keep the danged little guys from taking a swim when I have some of that - ewww.

My mom suggests putting a drop of dishsoap in the bottle and a funnel. That way they can't get back out...
