How King Arthur Flour found itself in the unlikely crosshairs of a pandemic

Interesting article.

I've been a stalwart KA flour user since the late 60's when I used to get 100# bags from Taylor & Sands in Cambridge, MA, which was their main distributor then.
I'd split the bag with my college roomie and my sister.
I love visiting the VT store and look forward to when I can go again.

Wellllll, just realizing that someone wanted to write this, was excited and focused enough to do it

is a thrill to me. I am impressed. Sure there is a bit of marketing in here but it's about pride. I love it.

When all this covid stuff started, the only thing I could not get the week before was the flour that was on sale. It doubled the next week. Everything else, I already had lots of, including TP. I was alarmed as I knew I would want to do lots of baking.

I think this entire event will change many people. I am stunned at how much home delivery of food is being marketed, when people have all the time to do and learn, perhaps for the first time ever.

Interesting times.

Thanks Paul

I hadn't noticed the home delivery of food marketing for the pre-made stuff

but wouldn't. But I do have Amazon fresh orders often even though I don't have to cook meals (delivery by our retirement community every day). But I just can't stand not to have some things at my hand to fix if I choose.
BUT still waiting for a delivery of yeast!! Yesterday I finally wrote an email to our clulinary director asking if the kitchen would give me a little yeast!!
Our community is still on recommended total lockdown--I haven't been in a store for 8 weeks. DH had a hospital procedure last week and are now even more self distancing from our fellow residents.

And of course I am wrong about the pre-prepared boxes. There was a HUGE feature

article in the NYTimes yesterday about Blue Apron and their rise in demand.
