How much do I need please? I have been asked to make a berry cobbler/crisp for about 24 people...

The crisp recipe I have calls for 6 cups berries baked in a 2 qt pan. (We are picking blackberries in the morning and will serve them after a dinner of crabs and hamburgers.) I believe this will be the only dessert for 24 people. How many recipes should I make? And, is 2 qts enough to fill a 9x9 pan. Will a double recipe fit a 9x13 and would I have to alter the baking?

Thank you for any thoughts!

hmmmm... will leave it to the catering experts here, but seems to me 2 recipes would do it.

Not everyone eats dessert. Of course, I'm saying that (because it seems logical), but I'd probably make 3X the recipe and have lots left over smileys/smile.gif

Barbara, I agree with cheezz that recipes might be enough, but only 1-1/2 will fit in a 9 x 13" pan

which holds 3 quarts. Unless you have two 2-quart pans, I would go ahead and do three recipes in two 9 x 13" pans (6 quarts). You might have leftovers, but they'll be good for breakfast.

I agree- three recipes in 2-9X13 pans is what I would do. Better to have too much than too little.

Thank you all, 3 recipes in two 9x13 it is! Blackberry picking is extremely plentiful

right now and with 4 of us picking we will pick enough in no time! We will just have to stop for the ice cream on the way home smileys/smile.gif

Have a great forth everyone!

Barbara, I missed the part about the berries being hand picked. How wonderful.

In that case make 12 recipes in 8 pans.
