How should I cook king fish?

I bought king fish from Costco, and we marinated and grilled it. The family liked it, and so did I up to a point, but I found it rather too fishy-tasting. Is there a way to cook it that might reduce that taste? I was wondering whether I should fry it.

royally..... sorry.... still regretting that I didn't comment on the 'soggy bottoms'....

Guess I asked for that.

(You must be related to my husband.)

I ended up frying it and serving it with tartar sauce, and it was really good.

I love smoked mackerel.

In South Africa we could buy smoked peppered mackerel which we ate quite often, but I've never seen it here. I think smoked fish must be much more popular in SA than it is here. I only see smoked salmon and smoked whitefish. For a short period, we bought smoked trout from Costco, then that disappeared.

In contrast, last time we were in SA, we found amazing smoked trout in the corner cafe (equivalent of a small 7-11). Admittedly that was in Sabie, which is well-known for its delicious trout, but even so! The most common smoked fish in SA is smoked snoek, which is much cheaper than other smoked fish, so that might be why we ate more of it.

And smoked haddock of course, though I didn't like it the way most people cooked it, poached in milk then baked in cheese sauce. I liked it in kedgeree.

And kippers.

Sigh. I suddenly have an overpowering desire for smoked fish.
