How to goof up a recipe and still be OK

It's a busy day with a late afternoon class, and I wanted to use up 6 defrosted chicken legs. I searched here for chix legs, found Dawn's recipe and got to work at doubling the recipe: browned the legs for the crockpot, added some celery and carrots to the wilting onions. Thinking I'd save a few minutes by mixing in the other ingredients in the warm pan, I threw in the peanut butter and grabbed a saved cup of coconut milk. But it wasn't coconut milk but a saved cup of cream cheese frosting. Hmm. Not too bad, just a bit sweet. Diluting with a bit of cow's milk and sriracha to see what will happen, but I think it's OK. If I don't tell DH, he'll eat it and like it.http://eat.at/swap/forum1/3513_Rec_Peanut_Chicken_Crockpot

Turned to aromatic, peanut-flavored sludge with good chicken

Chicken was very tender and fall-off the bone as Dawn said. DH ate it but thought it lacked something. (Ha!).
I'll have to make it again CORRECTLY. I will think about making it a bit more Thai-flavored.

OMG! Anna, that was so funny! I am impressed you could doctor up vanilla frosting in a crockpot!
