How to improve so-so wine, is Sangria the only option?

Anyone have a good wine punch/recipes/ideas?

Backstory from a friend in Canada and it's for her wedding and it turns out not tasting so good: "It's UBrew wine. Here in Canada, we have crazy taxes on all of our alcohol. So the bottles that cost you $2.99 at Trader Joe's cost us $10 at the liquor store. The only way to get around the taxes is to go to a facility that will make the wine for you, and then you go in and bottle/cork it."

If the wine has already been made then Sangria is a good option. At those Brew-Your-Own places they

do have the more expensive kits which do produce drinkable wine. Don't know what province your friend is in but the liquor stores do carry some excellent value wines for around $7 per bottle. There are many to choose from Chile.

She is in Canada...where it seems wine is $$$$...

And said their tiny wedding budget allowed only for the U-brew wine wheich now she tasted isn't so good (and they've already bought it). Said pricing there for crappy 2 buck chuck wine starts at about $10 a bottle so did this instead. However the wine isn't good and now wants to find out how to improve it. My only thought was to make sangria or a wine punch of some kind.

Any other thoughts or good recipes?

Maria, I, too, live in Canada and know that the liquor stores do carry low priced wines which are

quite good. There are many choices of Italian, Argentinian, Chilean and Eastern European wines (other countries too) that can be purchased for $7 to $9. The bargains are better when buying in quantity. We often buy a good French Merlot from the SAQ (Quebec Liquor Board) @ $8.75 per Liter. It's the "go to wine" for receptions and weddings according to the manager of the outlet where I shop. In which province does your friend live?
