I accidentally bought whole wheat PASTRY flour. Now what?

It was really expensive, too -- organic, from a little boutique flour mill in Quebec. No clue what to do with that. Any T&T recipes out there?

Thanks Sandy, did you substitute the whole wheat flour with whole wheat pastry flour?

I am under the strong impression that the two are not interchangeable for bread-like items because there's not enough gluten in the pastry flour. Thanks.

hi sandy - have you ever added dry spices to reguar roti dough?>>

I teach an east indian cooking class, & we always make roti (we made aloo paratha last time). when i read your post, i wondering about adding spices to the dough, then maybe brushing them with garlic butter, instead of regular butter, after cooking.

I never added or heard of spices in roti dough before, so I did a little research.

See my post to Mimi on this thread along with the recipe link. It would be great if you can share your East Indian cuisine expertise with us! Your idea is creative.

In Japan I accidentally bought salt instead of sugar...

...they are packaged the same way. Now THAT made for some interesting recipe results!
