I am disappointed. DH and I went to Central Mkt for lunch this afternoon

A GORGEOUS day, first cool day since March. We were looking forward to splitting an artichoke/olive/mushroom/feta/pesto pizza and a nice glass of Reisling.

Not.

Why would CM develop a new menu and remove the very most popular item? They replaced my pizza with a shrimp tandoori variety, which looked like pizza bbq with salad on top. Not nice. Tandoori shrimp? I don't think so.

I'm not happy.

But they did have a fresh roasting of RED hatch peppers (not on a pizza!), which helps.

It could be the price of "tea" these days Pat due to the economy and price of ingredients. Also, it

could be a manager's decision to change things up to suit them, in which case, if they're using cheap, farmed foreign shrimp...... You might want to ask about the shrimp's origin and why they dropped your favorite.

I strongly suspect cost-cutting measures here for the menu change-up.

OK, so I don't feel so sorry for you---you got to go to CM anyway! I picture you with a lovely

shopping basket and long sundress and big sunhat strolling up and down the aisles---kinda like the Stepford Wives movie---yikes! maybe not. Can you talk to the manager? Seems like a place that would listen to their customers.

Love the image, Ang -- but in Austin it would be more like long batik or dashiki with

flip flops, looonngg hair tied with a bandana. Keep it wierd, y'know? I did speak my mind, and they assured me that I could special order it, but I have a feeling that even that won't last...Oh, well.
