I am embarrassed to admit what a pig I made of myself yesterday.

There is a long-time Middle Eastern restaurant here that does a weekday buffet. It is absolutely stunning and beautiful and delicious (and only $10.00) Amazing variety of stuff - Charcoal-grilled marinated chicken and kibbe kebabs. Saffron chicken. Meat and rice stuffed peppers in tomato sauce. Tons of hot vegetables. An entire other cold line with tons of salads, Gyro meat. Hot vegetables. Coriander potatoes and roasted cauliflower. Bunches of cold salads. tabouli, hummus, baba ganoush, tzaziki, tahini sauce, rice pudding, homemade pita and thyme pie. I can't believe I had never been. Everything was so fresh and nice and even at almost 1:00 there was a wait for a table. I think I'll start starving myself and just eating there once a week. Groan....

I readily admit I have not tried bacon in all the concoctions they are creating, and even though

this recipe sounds great....I just can't help but feel it is wrong somehow! My age must be the problem;)

Marilyn, I have to stay away from here and any other food-realted sites

more and more - even reading about food makes it difficult for me to stick with my eating requirements.

I also avoid watch cooking shows for the same reason.

I realized I simply have no will power, so in order to cut down on those temptations, I simply avoid them altogether. smileys/frown.gif

I can't see mine either but just had to do something nice on my way

home from oncology follow-up appointment. I've been thinking about eating there forever and never got around to it.

The guy who owns it has one Lebanese and one Syrian parent.

And then you go and post the amazing sounding whipping cream pound cake below! You and Marilyn both

have multiple personalities!!!

LOL - I know, I laughed after I did that. smileys/bigsmile.gif I made that cake a few weeks ago, but hadn't

remembered to post it until now. I love the 1-2-3 Cake from the Swan's Down box, and had been looking at the pound cake recipe for a few years before I went ahead and gave it a try.

My DS makes the Red Velvet cake from that website - it is so good!

((((Melissa)))) ((((Marilyn)))) I think treats are good for the soul, and especially

yummy ME food, which I can never get enough of.
