I am going to be in New Orleans next month. I haven't been there since Katrina. I do have lots of

elaine

Well-known member
restaurants from before - has anyone been since and do

you have any recommendations. MY travelling partner has

never been so I will probably repeat many of the old standbys.

TIA

New Orleans is my FAVORITE place to dine so here's my list:

Over the years, I’ve collected some favorites. Most of the recommendations I see are bogus and touristy bullsh*t, not the kind of place you want to blow your New Year’s resolution calories on. Here are a few suggestions .

First of all, the Central Market, in the French Quarter, where everyone recommends the muffuletta, is a liquor store that sells these giant, over-rated sandwiches. Personally, I’d never go back. If you’re determined to eat something in the French Quarter, have the beignets and chicory coffee at the Café du Monde. That said, and in no particular order, these are some places I’ve been to, plan on visiting or think you’d dig.

Thank you so much. I have been to most of the classics but am happy to try as many of the others.
