I am in charge of favors for my women's club event. My plan is to make my almond butter toffee,

put it in clear bags , tie with the club colors and attach a quote from famous women. There will be about 25 women. How do I figure out how much candy to make?

How much do you want to give them? I would suggest. . .

i'd suggest a couple of ounces, like the amount in a candy bar or two.

Questions to think about: Will other favors be given? Does your recipe make a little or a lot? ---
Do you feel like impressing them or impressing someone else? smileys/wink.gif

Cyn, I have toffee from our local shop. Here is the data for that:

I have it packed in a 8-oz glass canning jar.
The toffee is 1/2 thick pieces; most are 1.5" (rough) squares
All together the 4 large, 4 smaller pieces weight 4 oz.
If I lay them out, they make a rough square of 5" x 3".

I chipped a crown on toffee once and that bugger cost me a $500 copay. So I don't eat it anymore...this was for gifts.

Chipped crown smileys/frown.gif That's why we like cracker toffee with

all the flavor in a very thin layer - over a soft cracker center.

I've had to give up my favorite Willy Wonka Gobstopper jaw breakers and chewing ice but my last broken filling was from a soft dinner roll!

I printed your toffee analysis and put it with my recipe. Thank-you for this! Colleen

I've used Dixie-To-Go coffee cups with lids

like these from Walgreens/Staples/Target/etc when I gift cracker toffee (cover top with plastic wrap under lid). When the toffee is gone, the coffee cup can be used but you can't see what is inside, so I attach a label. Colleen

If you live near a restaurant/business supply store like Smart-N-Final . . . (more)

you can find clear plastic cups and lids to fit; you can purchase them by the sleeve of lids/cups. They come in a variety of sizes, but I cannot say how large they might go up to.
