Recipe looks good! If you check out Amazon, it looks like Harissa paste is hot sauce; kind of like

tomato paste but the flavor of hot sauce. One referenced Piquant sauce. Please report back if you make it. Would love your opinion on the recipe. Sounds yummy!

 
I think so. If you google you will find a recipe for harissa also that you can

make yourself. It is a delicious spice to have around. If you have a middle eastern grocery you can buy it there. You will find other thngs to use it in.

 
Barb, our Whole Foods carried a very good jarred harissa paste. I put it on loads of stuff.

It's like Chinese chili/garlic sauce, but without the vinegar aftertaste. So...salty, spicy, delicious....and not too hot.

 
Well my little bottle of stuff sounds very similar to the recipes listed so I will give it a try!

I have been hearing so much about Harissa so finally decided to buy it

I was lead to The Spanish Table and purchased Mustapha's Moroccan Harissa, and while there I saw the same brand of Preserved Lemons. I read reviews and comments on blog for Moroccan foods and these two items seem to have a good following... The two ingredients came to under 20.00 so being I placed an order...oppps! Then I saw the shipping was 64.50 for next day air. I did not push that button, so I simply cancelled the order. Within 20 minutes I got a phone call from The Spanish Table which is in Oakland, about 4 hours from where I live. She wondered why I had cancelled the order and I told her I was not paying that horrendous shipping for two bottles of product shipped to me, only 4 hours away. She apologized saying they had lots of phone calls for the same thing and were trying to find out what is happening on their website.

She offered to me a 10.00 shipping charge. This is great considering that the bottles are glass and they have to put in extra packing materials.
I was very pleased with the customer service and now am anxious to receive my goodies, which should be very soon.

 
Love that Spanish Table in Oakland. Have shopped there many times.

It's only 30 minutes from where I live. Great folks and customer service.

 
You got that right, I just received a second email last night Caty Salas

telling me that store manager Kieffer Bates was aware of the excessive shipping charges and they are taking care of it, and I need not worry. I was very pleased....can't wait to get the Harissa and preserved lemons. These lemons are preserved whole.

 
I looked this brand up and it is a product from Whole Foods. You can no doubt order

it from a store near you.
