I am so excited! Central Market is having it's Hatch Chile Pepper festival starting today!

My list is ridiculous! Hatch scones, mango lime hatch pepper sorbet, hatch burgers, hatch meatballs, hatch monterrey jack cheese, hatch sausages, roasted hatch peppers packed for the freezer, hatch brownies!

New this year a hatch pepper rotisserie chicken.

My freezer will groan with delight.

Grilled hatch burgers tonight -- slathered the bun with hatch poblano pesto, and topped the burger

with jack/hatch cheese. A big slab of beefsteak tomato and a little mustard on the bottom of the bun made the most delicious burger! Toasted a hatch bun, of course.

At CM I had a tiny serving (enough!) of coconut/hatch sorbet. Pretty good, but left me with a pretty hefty kick!

 
No, it was Central Market's prep. And so good. I hope I can deconstruct it!

It is very rich -- maybe a little crema or cream cheese -- both the poblano and hatch flavors come through. Garlic in there, too, and lime juice or zest. So good, and the flavor stands up to the burger. The texture is on the order of a tomato-less guacamole.
