Instead of a traditional bottom/top crust for apple pie, simply take:
a store-bought crust (the unbaked rolled ones in the refrigerator case), lay it out on a cookie tray, then, using a pastry wheel, a pizza cutter or sharp knife--slice dough into 12 wedges.
Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with sugar and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
Cook 3 apples worth of slices in butter until slightly soft, then add cinnamon, raisins, a bit of apple juice and some caramel sauce.
To serve, lay a crisp wedge of dough down, add a few small scoops of vanilla ice cream, drizzle with hot apples & sauce, add another wedge at a jaunty tilt and top with more ice cream, apples and sauce.
Go to sleep dreaming of sharp angles and warm caramel.
