from an almost two-year-old, to a twelve year-old. We decided to proclaim today, "a day of fun". So far they have been doing magic shows, talent shows, apple bobbing, relay races, etc. My major contribution was the Fear Factor food event. My pantry can tend to be a FF sort of place anyways, this is what we did.
I put out:
hamster balls: garbanzo beans
innards: cold sun-dried tomatoes
rat turds: capers
cold dead worms: almost frozen spaghetti
eel: a can of smoked eel
I made up cards to draw, and off we went. The almost two-year-old loved the eel and was begging for it the whole time, he is done with his lunch. The four-year-old loved all of it, and I ended up making a pasta salad with the left-overs. They are just the funniest kids, the things they like to eat; smoked oysters, clams, sardines, tomatoes of any kind, shrimp...all the things my picky seven-year-old will not touch. A very fun time, and a fun activity for a lazy summer day or birthday party. It was a smashing success with lots of laughter.
