I caught an episode of Jamie Oliver's 15 minute meals, and made the coconut rice from the episode

for the life of me I can't find the recipes for this on his website, but I found this one on a blog.

It's simply 1 can of coconut milk, 1 can of rice and 1 can of water. I put this into the rice cooker with the 1/2 lemon and a pinch of salt. it cooked up beautifully and before serving I added cilantro, some chopped pickled jalapenos and some toasted coconut. I will be making this again. It's similar to Pat's coconut rice we have in T&T, but a bit simpler. dead easy, in Jamie-ese

Fie on you, Miss A. It's post like THIS that make me want to go out and get a rice cooker

I DON''T NEED A RICE COOKER.

BUT NOW I WANT A RICE COOKER.

EVEN THOUGH I HAD A RICE COOKER AND GAVE IT AWAY BECAUSE I NEVER USED IT.

I spent big bucks on a rice cooker, used it three times and now it just sits

I found out that by the time I took it out of the pantry, set the menu up and put in the stuff, I could have had put everything into a pan much easier. Many folks really like them however....
For me, cooking rice in a pan is much easier. The only plus, as far as I could see with a rice cooker, was that it holds the rice at warm, and if you need that feature they are great. Mine can be used for a lot more than rice....it is a Zojirushi.

wow, you have the cadillac of rice cookers. I've just started using ours more often. big families

use it for oatmeal. I might try that this summer when we have fishing guests to feed.
