Alfred (finds restaurants)

AroundMe (finds anything you need using your location - restaurants, fabric store, grocery, gas station....etc.)

iPad Apps

Are you looking for just food apps?

My favorite is Australian Gourmet Traveller. Hands down, best cooking magazine in the world, IMHO and they kick ass in their interactive iPad version.

Also love the Great British Chefs apps (there are three), 42 restaurants, ArtusiHD for great classic italian fare, the Intercontinental Hotels coking app, De Cecco Pasta and San Pellegrino's italian food app. I give the disclaimer that these are fussy food apps, but they're inspiring and gorgeous.

Shazam - when you don't know the name of a song you

place your ipad next to the speaker and it tell's you the name. Evernote, winestein is great for pairing wine with food, and stumble upon

Ok, this dates me - all I can envision is Gomer Pyle
