I found out this week that our community is getting a Smart and Final ....

so for those of you who have one in your area and shop there, what do you like to buy there? We already have a Costco and I love them, but, there is a membership.

They're great for everthing disposable: plates, utensils, napkins, etc, and I love the

containers they carry by Pro-Kal; cup, pint and quart deli containers with one lid that fits all.

They also have 2-gallon size resealabe plastic bags--a hard size to find--in boxes of 50.

Their fresh food is not as good as Costco's but if you ever need snack-bar type things; chips, soda, etc., this is the place.

They carry some simple aluminum restaurant-sized cookware, nothing fancy. I use their cake pans and I've bought 14" non-stick skillets that I love for under $50.

I get all of our cereal at Smart and Final and. . .

Our milk for the cereal, half-n-half for coffee (cheapest in town--$1.29/qt. vs. $2.49+/qt.

You can get whole, primal-bagged cuts of beef there pretty dang cheap; This summer I am buying a whole beef brisket or two and I am going to do me some good smoked brisket!

I buy my flour, sugar, yeast there.

And I get a decent medium cheddar for just about 2$/lb.

Ladies, when you live here in the harbor, you have to find SOMETHING to gloat about.

Joe, use to live in Seal Beach. Loved, loved, loved it there.>>

Remembering all the conveninces and great restaurants.
