I give up. Everything you've heard about California is true!

I just googled and found a site called Weed Maps, which lists 18 dispensaries in Long Beach alone.

LOL, I bet if you've ever had a hang nail or a pimple you, too, can get a lifetime prescription.

Maybe Los Angeles has been a little more discteet about it smileys/wink.gif

I happened to attend a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting here in Phoenix...

...after the ballot measure passed. They were trying to figure out what the zoning requirements would be. (I was there for a different agenda item).

They said when a similar measure first passed in California, the city of Los Angeles (NOT the metro area -just within the CITY limits) there were over 800 dispensaries that popped up, practically over night! The law was so vague anyone with a roach clip and a grow light could open a dispensary. Crazy.

Yep, there were hundreds overnight here in Long Beach, but most of them disappeared as fast

as they sprang up. (Kind of like Boston Markets) Now the city is charging something like $5,000 to even apply for the license and limiting the number of licenses so there is no guarantee that the application will be accepted.

I realize there's a lot of wrong with this but at the same time there could

be some good with it also. (Do I need to duck? LOL) From the little that I know about it there are some real beneficial results for some with cancer treatment that have a problem eating because of chemo treatment and other medical problems. Is it possible that this might be a real benefit for sick people and what gains might be had with the industry? I can't help but wonder if there might be a pathway toward a new industry. OK, now I know one of you out there are sending someone to pick me up but for what it is worth...I don't do it. Not that I care if you do. LOL

Heh, heh, the dispenseraries around he advertise in the free college. . .

newspapers that are given out all over campus. Just imagine all of those college students, sick and in need of medical marijuana.

Mebbe I should get sick. . .

Orchid, I thought the same thing when I read it. I'm pretty sure if I had to have chemo I'd use any

means to escape the effects of it.

Yeah, I think most anyone would. I think it's an interesting idea. Looks

like this guy has found a way to get it into some good food. Seems like there could be a real medical help here. Scuse me please, my wine glass is empty. LOL

When I posted it I was laughing at the "gourmet" aspect and the price of $100 per meal

(Hasn't he heard there is a recession going on?) It's just sounds so Californian, and the garnishes in the pictures are priceless.

But re-reading it, I see he was reacting to the junk food they sell at the dispensaries which were bad for diabetics in chemotherapy. If there really is a market for such high priced spiked food, I agree, more power to him. I personally think we should drop the "medical" pretense and just legalize it. My turn to duck.

At the community gardens I've had to add "No marijuana or other controlled substances may be grown" to our contract, because it has become legal to grow your own here. Our reason is that we know it would be stolen by outsiders hopping the fence.

hmmmm.... and I have both... and then some. Lifetime prescription should be easy smileys/smile.gif

I live in a Colorado mountain town with a population of 645 and there are -

four dispensaries in a 2-1/2 block "downtown" area. Along with the seven casinos in town.

We have no grocery store or gas station but we're set with gambling and pot smileys/smile.gif

LOL FloriSandy! And that probably explains the posting I saw in Craigslist --

today. Someone is offering to barter their medical marijuana permit (or whatever it's called)for a new windshield for his car. Really??
