Are they Olson’s? I just ordered them online, but I got 17 Oz of dried bing cherries and 17 Oz Blenheim dried apricots. Bugger cost $76 after shipping, but very tasty!! I made two delicious fruit spreads to use for rugelach for the wedding cookies.
For you I'm picturing a Black Forest cake using some of those frozen cake layers you already have. I made one for Larry once, following a Gourmet recipe. It was good…but I felt it needed…more. More soaking liqueur, more cherries, more…more.
So I made the cake again, followed my instincts and it was superb. Actually better than any I’d ever bought because all of my ingredients were homemade and not bulk bakery items (like cherry purée with additives and thickeners).
Also, I think Marg’s idea is Excellent.
