I got to see Julie & Julia - as others have said, it is wonderful! Do go if you haven't already.

One of my favorite scenes....(spoiler inside, don't read if you haven't seen the movie)...

is Julia with her huge pile of chopped onions and Paul in the doorway trying to deal with the onion fumes.

Mine, too!

I laughed so hard at that one.

I really enjoyed this movie, even more than I thought I would.

Such a great romance between Julia and Paul, I enjoyed that part the most.

The scene where she receives the letter about her sister's pregnancy made me cry...I wasn't expecting that one, either. Actually, several scenes made me well up.

Meryl Streep deserves an Oscar for her portrayal of Julia.

Another fave:

...Maybe it's that scene, but Paul asks, at one point, after Julia's been practicing all day, "What's for dinner?", and she gives him this scathing look. smileys/smile.gif)) Fantastic.

Just saw it last night, and can't wait to see it again! Loved it!

And it definitely left me wanting more of the Julia story! Are they selling a collection of her videos at Costco yet??

Think I posted this, but absolutely loved the big Buick getting offloaded in Paris, that was in the

beginning of the book. I started smiling then and didn't stop (sometimes along with tears) until the end. And again it seemed sooooo short!

I wish they'd done the whole movie of Julia and Paul.

I was interested in the (very) brief references to the fact that they didn't (couldn't?) have children. I wonder if that added to her competitiveness in the kitchen?
