I had a Bake Sale Fundraiser today for some local fire crews that had vandalism and stolen vehicles

waiting for them when they returned from fighting wild fires in the state. lo life scummy thieves were caught---they were also very stupid, but this story just spoke to me and I wanted to do something, so I baked. The firefighters were up near Fairbanks a few weeks ago fighting a wildfire that was burning near one of our company's Air Force radar sites, so we are grateful to them. This was quite successful---I usually bring in treats for free. I made the Banana Bread posted on Pioneerwoman this week, one plain with powdered sugar, and one with chocolate chips and choc icing(the plain went first), and the Blueberry Bars in T&T but added some rhubarb to them. you can read about the stupid thieves here. http://www.ktuu.com/Global/story.asp?S=10960144http://www.ktuu.com/Global/story.asp?S=10960144

Kudos Ang!!!! Great thing to do. Read about those skumbags, how low could they be!

such heroes. those numbskull crooks just got under my skin. good thing I'm not the prison matron.

Big Kudos to you! What a nice way to honor and celebrate the FM.I am sure it is appreciated by all

thanks for the kind words everyone, but I didn't mean to sound like tooting my own horn---I wanted

to point out the story about the stupid stupid crooks---I mean, who drives a stolen vehicle the day after the story and descriptions appear on all the local TV stations. And, I wanted to let you all know what the good sellers were---bake sale season ahead of us. The men were drawn to the Plain Banana Bread, and the women to the Blueberry bars. The chocolate chip banana bread was a tad exotic for this bunch, but once they tasted it, it got bought.
