I hadn't heard that there was a vanilla shortage. Penzey's is drastically raising their price 9/21

I get the double strength which is currently $59.95 for a 16 oz bottle. This is going up to $79.95 on 9/21/16 due to the shortage of vanilla.

This explains a little about it.

Penzeys warned about this months ago, I did not see the first warning but just got their message via email last week. Luckily, I purchased a bottle of vanilla from them prior to that. I also have home made vanilla from our son from last Christmas. Should be in good shape as I do not use it too often.

Our local W/D was getting rid of their organic vanilla >> $10.99 down to $5.50

I picked up a bottle even though I still have some of my 32 oz Nielson Massey bottle.

I only did it because it was a good deal. Now I feel even better!
