I have a food storage question, and hope you can help.

I found a store that sells leftover food items at a big discount. They had large boxes of Krusteaz cake and muffin mixes that I couldn't resist. They are not outdated. I want to make certain that I am not bringing any critters home to my cupboard. Somewhere I read that freezing will kill any bugs or eggs lurking in boxes. My question is this: If I freeze these boxes, can I then remove them from the freezer and store them in an airtight plastic container, or must they stay in the freezer to keep them pest-free?

I have been putting all items containing flour in my freezer when

I bring it home. However, I only leave them in the freezer for 3 days. I haven't had any problem using this method.

We just bought a new Breville toaster. I've never paid so much $ for a toaster but we're very happy.

You can defrost and then toast all in 1 operation.

If you want to check to see doneness of the toast, you touch 1 button and the toast lifts for you to view and then retreats to toast more.

The only thing I'm not happy with is it does not have wide slots (at least the model I ordered), for wide pieces of bread.

Reading reviews I was sure I only toast on #1 but I've never had burnt toast or smoke, #3 seems to be our mode of toasting.

THREE WEEKS!! Wow. Guess I better find a lot of room in the freezer. Thanks for the quick reply.

Thanks, Bobbi Jo. I'll start with 3 days, and then keep a close eye on everything. Thank you.
