I have been enjoying "steamables" edemame. Just discovered it at our supermarket.

It is a fraction of the cost when I go to the japanese takeout place, and honestly tastes really good! We enjoy the one w/ sea salt. If you like edemame, and hate paying for the restaurant cost, you should consider....

I bought 4 bags today... (Granted, the extra bonus was that they were on sale!)

Barb, we've been enjoying Cascade edamame individual packages for a while now

It's a great snack, satisfying that craving for hand-to-mouth (like chips), saltiness (like chips) and bulk (like chips).

Another dish we've been doing a lot is the loose edamame peas, simmered for 4 minutes in a bit of chicken broth. Two minutes into the simmer, I add a handful of julienned carrots (the pre-cut organic stuff).

Then I boil up one or two sticks of soba buckwheat noodles and serve the edamame and carrots with a ginger/honey salad dressing over the noodles. Or add more broth and make a soup of it.

Takes all of 5 minutes.
