I have something in common with Julia Child!!

OMG, ir kills me to waste things. I always thought that was from my original mother, and not also

Mother Julia.

I gave up watching FoodTV years ago due to chefs NOT scraping out melted chocolate. They'd toss the

bowl aside with a full 1/4 C or more of melted chocolate still in the bowl. I felt this was a travesty for those poor people watching the show to LEARN. Their results wouldn't turn out the same as the recipe which expects ALL of the ingredients to make it into the final product.

I want to reach right into the TV and grab the bowl for Giada and scrape it properly. gaaah.

I was just thinking about Julia and her sadness in being childless---but she had all of us and we

love her dearly, just like a mum.

Or when they say "2 tsp" and obviously use heaping ones which probably equate to a Tablespoon!

*TWO* Tablespoons. No wonder it doesn't turn out the same!

In regards to the waste you see on TV food shows, it is a matter of time

with most of the shows. They do not schedule time for it to be done. One acception is Martha Stewart, she is a stickler on scraping the bowls and I am certain she has production figure in the time it takes to do it.

Of course that's TV for you but worse than that are the many people who refuse to ask or accept

doggie bags for their leftover meals.

I've seen such needless and pompous displays of leftover food that's already bought and paid for for too many years. For some, it's a "class" statement (the worst of the two reasons). For others, it's just pure neglect and ignorence in my opinion.
