My kids always enjoyed these. Refrigerator Pickles
I've only made them with regular cucumbers.
Boil 2 quarts water, 1 1/2 cups white vinegar, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4- 1/2 cup salt. Wash 8 cucumbers, cut off each end and slice. Put in jars with 3-4 sprigs fresh dill, 2 or 3 garlic cloves, sliced. *Add 1/4 tsp. alum. Cover with boiling liquid. Refrigerate 24 hours.
* Make sure you add alum befor adding liquid.
