I just did my yearly order to Penzeys, for my bulk spices and was wondering

if anyone knows the difference between the very expensive Kashmir Mogra Indian Saffron and the Superior Spanish Saffron?

Since saffron is usually in dishes with bold flavors and multiple ingredients, I'm thinking it would be very hard to tell if an Indian saffron was used versus a Spanish. What do you think?

I agree with you, but I've never tried the expensive saffron

so I wouldn't know. I buy my saffron from the local Indian store. I think it's great and so much cheaper than Penzey's, though it has gone up a lot over the last two years.
