I didn't use the recipe, but I did use the technique. It is from a magazine called Home Cooking Magazine. I just got a sample copy in the mail.

You prepare French toast as you would normally, only you cook it in your waffle iron. My son loved it.

Waffle French Toast

Karen Farr, Warsaw, MO.

4 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons butter, melted

8-10 slice bread

maple syrup

Preheat waffle iron. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, salt and melted butter together. Dip bread in egg mixture and bake in waffle iron for 2-3 minutes. Serve with syrup.

A side note, I made hubby a paninni in said waffle iron. he looked at it and said ummm,

no thanks. He thought I made French toast with turkey and cheese. When I eplained what it was, a pannini of sorts, he tried it, and he liked it. It was very good. Another good use for you waffle iron. Who knew. Next I will be making waffle burgers and steaks. Who needs a Foreman grill!
