I just opened a jar of "Raspberry-Apple" fruit spread and the consistency is

well, just say very unappealing. And it tastes like prunes... not bad, but a weirdly loose jam type of texture. Any thoughts on how to use it, maybe in a dessert or make it into a savory dish with chicken? TIA

P.S. Why does my computer keep thinking I need to go to Weight Watchers?! (keep getting pop-ups) lol

Ha! Mine gives me "plum jam", weightloss, and liposuction. What next? Spanx?

Dawn, I was reading about "small batch" jam making (2-3 jars at a time) and all the girl did was mix up the sugar/fruit blend, let it sit to dissolve the sugar and then cook for 20 minutes to reduce and concentrate. No added pectin...just fruit and sugar.

I wonder if you can do the same with yours. Use a wider pan so the surface area has room to boil/simmer away.

Steve/mistral/daria may have insight into the chemical breakdown on why it loosened up.

Maybe mix with sage, freshly cooked apples, onions and serve over a pork tenderloin?

You mean with the already-cooked spread? I bought it, not that that makes a

difference, I suppose... I'm not trying to make more, better, since I didn't make this one ), just trying to use it up. Thank you though.
