They were easy to roll up despite lots of online comments but they were not done enough in the centers for our taste. Making them with the figs was amazing though! They were pretty juicy so the pastry was soggier than with the apples. Next time we will let them drain a bit on toweling.
We had cinnamon bun cheapo ice cream from the grocery store, which was a perfect pairing with these, surprisingly. Sadly with my egg allergy I can only eat the cheap stuff but sometimes it works out!
I was thinking about making salami "roses" next, with pesto and cheese, something that would melt but not be too squishy. Doesn't that sound like fun?
