I made pizza on my new grill today and omg, it's the best pizza ever.

The bottom is so crisp, and it tasted so good. I guess it's the high heat in the grill (compared to the oven) that upped the pizza from good to great (I used my regular recipe but the taste is so much better).

I didn't have a pizza stone BUT I have a thin granite stone that I used instead and it worked fine. I'm totally making using my grill to make pizza again smileys/smile.gif

was this gas or charcoal?

Charcoal ovens were the original method of making pizza and to this day the oldest pizzeria in the US (Lombardi's in NY) still uses charcoal ovens. As does Sam's in Brooklyn, I believe.

I love grilling pizza, we do it directly on the grates. Grill one side tile firm, then flip over

add toppings, and finish.

Perfect every time!

Aha! You add the topping AFTER you put the dough on the grill. That is a smart trick, I think.

I did have some problems transferring the pizza from the plate to the grill and back to the plate, so I ended up making four small pizzas instead of one large one.
I will try your way next time, Lisa. Thanks for sharing smileys/smile.gif
